10 signs you are on an RV Road trip

10 signs you are on an RV road trip (or things I learned driving over the past two days)

10.  Every car or truck on the road wants to speed up and get in front of you whether you are going the speed limit or not.
 9.  You discuss how easy it is to exit a gas station before choosing to go there.
8.  You are outpaced by a freight train.
7.  You not only kill bugs with your car, but the occasional, extremely confused, large raptor. (so VERY sad about that hawk – it was such a beautiful bird too - not the high point of my day).
6.  Driving takes hours longer than it does with a car.  (11 hour drive to Gallop instead of 9!)
5.  Dinner is prepared, served, eaten, and cleaned up while driving down the road.
4.  You wake up in a Walmart parking lot.
3.  Kids fall asleep on a bed before you reach your destination.
2.  RV tires are really expensive - but when there is a bulge the size of a grapefruit in a tire, its kinda mandatory to get new ones.
1.  Within a 11 hour period the passengers in your vehicle say “I have to go to the bathroom” TWELVE times total, and you never have to pull over.  (I am now the only person in the family who hasn’t used the bathroom while the RV is rolling down the road at 65 miles an hour – so I will have to let Michael drive at some point just so I have a frame of reference!)

  2. Big beautiful hawk.... gone. So sad.
Thankfully we made it to Discount Tire before the tire actually blew - but it was BAD. They said the tread separated because of moisture. It was bad on one, but evident on three others, so we had to replace them all....

  3. I am glad that God protected you and that tires held up until you could replace them.

  5. I'm very sorry about the hawk. I hit a squirrel once several years ago and I still can't shake the guilt. VERY relieved that you figured out the tires BEFORE something happened. Infinitely better those were removed while stopped and in a tire shop than at 55 MPH on a desert highway. Hope Luke is still recovering well from his run in with the stick on the last day of school! The stick may have won the fight, but Luke will win the war.
