Rocky Mountain National Park 2015

We love the beauty of the mountains!
In the midst of preparing for a cross country move, we had the wonderful opportunity to spend a couple days with my Wisconsin family.  My Aunt and Uncle, and my youngest cousin came to Colorado, and we all took a trip up to RMNP to see what there was to see.  I am so glad that we had one last chance to visit before we move!

their skills as mountain goats.

Such a gorgeous family!

Aren't any roads in Wisconsin that can boast being this high!

Now I have to say that the highlight of this trip was that the kids FINALLY saw a moose.  We have been to so many National Parks, including Yellowstone, and moose have always evaded us.  And boy have we looked!  Seeing this lovely gal was absolutely the most exciting moment of the trip!

There was no shortage of elk to see either.  This is one of many we glanced, but she was  certainly the closest.

One of my favorite things in RMNP is the very, very short walk to Bear Lake.  We seem to always go in May, so the trail is covered in packed snow that has long since turned to ice.  It is a slippery walk, but it is such a gorgeous site once we get there.

We will officially start our summer vacation on Sunday when we leave the beautiful state of Colorado.
